Program Description:
- provides mental, physical and social support to immigrant and refugee women experiencing challenges during their integration process
- trains newcomer women to become peer support group facilitators
- supports graduates to go back into their communities and deliver 10-week peer support groups for other newcomer women facing difficulties adjusting to their new lives in Canada
Client Profile / Eligibility Criteria
- candidates must have an immigrant and / or refugee background and a strong desire to help others and give back to their communities by assisting other immigrant and refugee women with their adjustment process
- the successful candidates must be willing to make a strong commitment to the training and the facilitation of the peer support groups
