Empowering Immigrant Civic Engagement in Burnaby's Neighborhoods

Intercultural Connection

The initiative's primary goal is to promote civic engagement among Burnaby's immigrant population, encouraging their active participation in and contribution to the development of their local communities.

BIPT is dedicated to increasing the understanding and involvement of Burnaby's immigrants in civic activities. By improving their knowledge and participation in these activities, this objective aims to empower immigrants to become more active contributors to their neighborhoods.

We seeks to expand opportunities for immigrants and refugees to engage in various civic roles, including participation in committees, boards, advisory panels, and similar platforms. This objective acknowledges the value of diverse perspectives and aims to create an inclusive environment where immigrants can actively contribute to decision-making processes that shape their communities.

We work towards the broader vision of immigrants taking an active and meaningful role in the growth and development of Burnaby's neighborhoods through their civic engagement.
