Burnaby’s immigrant and refugee population increased nearly 40% between 1996 and 2006, an above average upsurge for BC communities. As a result, Burnaby benefits from new perspectives, and diverse cultural, educational and professional opportunities. With those benefits come certain challenges; challenges BIPT exists to address.
The BIPT web site compiles news stories, reports and resources that document and investigate immigrant issues at the local, regional and national level. It also profiles many of the organizations and people who work to help newcomers integrate successfully into our city.
